The smart decision – façade protected with aluminium cassettes from DS Stålprofil

The young students living at Vilhelm Kiers Kollegium are well “wrapped up” in façade profiles. Located in the north west part of Aarhus, this student hall of residence was built in 1970 and houses over 600 students. The façade of the 52-year-old building has been completely renovated and the old worn fibre cement has been replaced by aluminium façade cassettes.

Student-friendly façade cladding

The aluminium façade cassettes were specially designed for this project. DS Façade Cassettes are made from aluminium and steel – it is façade cladding of the highest order with respect to design, colour options and lifetime. There are buildings standing today with aluminium that was used 70 years ago, so this hall of residence will safely and comfortably house students for many years to come.

But we are seeing increasing interest from architects and developers, who are taking an effective approach when it comes to using façade cassettes in new solutions for homes, industrial buildings, residential buildings and commercial buildings. For example, Maribo Swimming Pool with its façade cassettes made from corten steel. The building has a totally renovated look because of the incredibly attractive solution.

Steel DS Façade Cassettes are available in GreenCoat Pural BT and Polyester in our standard colour range. DS Façade Cassettes are also available in powder-coated or wet-coated aluminium. The cassettes are available in thicknesses of 0.60–1.25 mm and in aluminium from 0.70–2.00 mm.
