Can you make whisky in Denmark? Yes, of course you can! Whisky makers in Thy even win very prestigious awards for their whisky. The crops for making whisky are harvested at the family-owned farm called “Gyrup”, which dates back to the early 1300s. It is the eighth generation that now runs the family farm, and they started their whisky adventure in 2010.
As far as is known, Thy Whisky Distillery is the first organic single estate whisky distillery in the world, and one of the few distilleries in the world to maintain its own “homemade” malt production. Using organic crops and old Nordic grains, grown in their own fields, together with local ingredients, the resulting award-winning Thy Danish Whisky has real character. Forget uniformity and mass production - here the motto is "the best possible quality". This means the whisky is bottled as single bottlings, a few casks at a time, where each bottling is unique.

Homemade malt from organic fields and local ingredients, matured according to all the rules of whisky distilling - “Thy bottled”, ready for pure enjoyment. This means the product must also be presented in a proper way. Its visual presentation part of the overall experience. Who wants to drink, let alone serve excellent vintage whisky from a cardboard box? No way! At Thy Whisky Distillery they go all in - here the “packaging” has the right format. From the oak casks that the whisky is aged in, to the ready-to-sell bottles and packaging, the visual presentation of the award-winning whisky is in keeping with the high quality of the contents.

And now the whole distillery is perfectly clad. DS Format Rust emphasizes the brand and the product “Thy Whisky Distillery”. With its rustic and rusty surface, partially perforated with logo and ear of corn, this steel cladding harmonises the look of the whisky production in the middle of the raw nature, close to the wild North Sea and National Park Thy.
With DS Format Rust façade cladding and DS Trapezoidal sheet 20-115 cladding, Thy Whisky Distillery has perfectly clad storage space to refine and distil the magical product for many years to come. Steel profiles have a long life, so there should be a basis for aging their whisky in barrels for many years to come. And just as whisky improves with age, so too will DS Format Rust’s patina become more and more beautiful as time goes by.
