Modern windmill

Waldmühle is located to the south east of Hamburg and was built in the middle of the 19th century. The windmill has functioned as a small romantic hotel since 1970 and has its own restaurant. It also features a forest terrace, where visitors can enjoy their meals under an open sky when the weather permits – otherwise there is the lovely tower café at the top of the windmill, offering a panorama view of the forest.

When the owners renovated the windmill, they chose DS Rib Sheet, which is great for budgets and has a very long lifetime. The steel profiles were installed horizontally as the old wooden planks were, thus helping to the windmill to retain its original look. And maintaining the steel profiles only requires some soap and water – a big advantage when you have a busy restaurant to run.
