Homes and facilities for autistic residents, clad in wood and steel profiles, and surrounded by forest
Skala Arkitekter Horsens have created a centre for autistic residents, Using a stylish combination of wood and steel profiles they have “planted” AutismeCenter Skive in the centre of a forest. The forest has been retained and improved, so that the centre’s users can learn and grow in safe and natural surroundings.
AutismeCenter Skive provides day and 24-hour services to residents who have been diagnosed with autism. Services include permanent residences, domestic skills training and daytime employment.
A series of small paths cross the yard and the homes clad in wood and steel – linked with narrow glass corridors. A safe environment surrounded by a forest and fields of wildflowers – a paradise of peace and quiet!
Special roof design using DS Nordic Click Seam
A beautiful, hip roof structure with many details and inclines, clad in DS Nordic Click Seam, which gives AutismeCenter Skive a wonderful finish. And of course, choosing sustainable steel profiles to clad the roof of a building surrounded by forest and wild fields is a completely natural choice.
Cradle to Cradle® Certification
Did you know that DS Stålprofil is the first Danish manufacturer of thin plate steel to be certified Cradle to Cradle Certified® Bronze for the main product group of steel for façade and roof cladding?
